Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The analysis of stool examination is as follows: 1. The physical properties- color, consistency, and chemical reaction are all within normal limits. 2. Various cells- epithelial cells, RBCs, pus cells 9white blood cells) are absent from the stool sample. Presence of pus cells signifies infection especially bacterial infection. Epithelial cells usually accompany any kind of infection of the gastro-intestinal tract. 3. In the microscopic examination shows presence of cysts of Entameoeba histolytica (EH). EH is a protozoa which infects the gastro-intestinal tract especially the large gut. Infection with EH can cause abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.
Infection with bacteria or any other parasite is absent. Hence, you require treatment for amoebiasis. Repeat stool examination after completing course of anti-amoebic drugs.
