Spitting Up Blood With Tonsillitis

My boyfriend has tonsillitis . They put him On some antibiotics and he woke up spitting blood and says that it feels like it s oozing. He doesn t have insurance so I m wondering if this is something I should take him to the er for. He s 25 years old and generally healthy otherwise.

Spitting Blood needs a thorough evaluation, you should be taking him to a ER at the earliest so that the physician evaluate him completely to rule out the exact cause. If necessary he will require a chest x ray or endoscopy to rule out any internal bleeding and figure out the source.
