Sore Throat, Pus At Back Throat, Difficult To Swallow. Treatment?

Hello Dr. I have a sore throat and pus at the back of my throat with black spots on it. It started 2 days ago. Its gotten worse today and I can hardly swallow properly as I feel a major sting whenever I try. I will go to the nearest NHS service tomorrow as today is bank holiday, most places are shut. Can you please advise me what I should do in the mean time? any home remedies to easy the irritation? Many thanks, JM

hi JM
welcome to healthcaremagic

you seem to have developed acute pharyngitis which on examination will give a clue of amount of inflammation, and the prescription of an antibiotic
in the meantime you can do Warm salt water gargling which will definitely soothen your throat
