Sore Throat, Lumps Under Chin And Neck. Is This Throat Cancer? What Tests Should Be Done?

Hi where can i check if I have throat cancer or not? Im a male, 20years old, I have a few symptoms of throat cancer like my sore throat has been stayed for 3months and I found out I have a 2 little lumps under my chin and 1small lump on my neck on the left, they're all painless. I went to a family doctor to ask if I should do cancer test, he said no, but Im afraid. I think If I find out early I could treat that. So can you please tell me what should I do and Where can I go to check throat cancer?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Welcome in H.C.M. for query.

I read your query about your sore throat and two small lymph nodes, one below the chin and other at side of neck.

Your clinical history is supporting for chronic throat infection with cervical lymphadenitis. For management and correct diagnosis you should do-

1- Culture and sensitivity of throat swab.

2- Blood - CBC, ESR, Blood sugar (F & PP).

3- X-Ray chest.

4- FNAC of neck lump.

After this much work your primary line of treatment may be started and that will most likely solve your problem but unfortunately if your symptoms persists than consultation with ENT doctor will become necessary for thorough examination necessary investigations like endoscopy etc.

Regards.
