Sonography Done. Is My Condition Dangerous? Hashimotos Or Graves Disease?

I had a small swelling on my neck since 2 years and was advised sonography. The impression resulted in "Thyromegally with multiple small nodules"
I was advised further clinical evaluation as follows:
T3:69,T4:2.27.
TPO and ATG: above 1000.
I was diagnosed with Hypothyroid and put on Eltroxin 100 mcg.

Is this disease dangerous. Can it be cancerous. How can I confirm one way or another?
Can it be Hashimotos disease or Graves' disease?

Please advise.

Hi!
welcome to HCM!
Hashimotos disease is the most common cause of hypothyroidism in areas where there is no iodine deficiency, its an autoimmune disease where our immune system attacks our thyroid causing chronic inflammation and destruction of normal thyroid gland.HIGH TPO and ATG along with high TSH and low T3 T4,usually confirm the diagnosis.Treatment is that regular Elthroxin has to be taken along with testing of TSH to monitor the level and IT SHOULD NOT RISE.Disease has to be carefully monitored life long and there are chances of developng lymphoma in rare cases.
As about Graves disease it another extreme of autoimmune disease characterised by hyperthyroidism, protrusion of eyeballs and dermopathy in few cases.antibodies are formed against TSH receptor.
