Solution For Pain, Breathlessness, Sleeplessness Due To Old Pacemaker?

My mom pacemaker turned over Jan 27, 2014 and is scheduled for a new pacemaker March 5, 2014. She is in a lot of pain, she can t slept, her heart hurts bad, she cry all night, give out of breath walking from bedroom to bathroom. Why are the talking so long to give he new pacemaker? She is 77 years old.

Thanks for writing to HCM.
Malfunctioning pacemaker will usually result in syncope or pre-syncope if patient is dependent on it. patient can be short of breath on exertion due to it. However pain/ difficulty in sleeping is not likely to be due to pacemaker related issues. You should consult your physician about them and get treatment.
The delay in implantation is likely due to local reasons which you have to inquire.
