Solution For Itchy Lesion In Genital Area?
Dear doc,
I believe that I have genital wart. It is not so serious but I'm worried that it might be spreading. I also feel uneasy because it feels itchy. I tried to rub it hard until it bleeds. I'm careful not to use my hands or let the infected area spreading. After that I use a Dettol solution and apply it to the genital wart's area. I hope this can cure it. Do you think that this can trigger bigger problems? What are the best solutions for genital warts. I already made appointment to see a gynae but it took me few months before my appointment. I just wanted to treat it before it gone bad.

Normally genital warts would not be itchy. If it is itchy it may be due to either an associated infection like yeast or due to some other applications.
There are many modalities for the treatment of Genital Warts, right from, Chemical and Surgical Cauterization, Cryo surgery, LASER, Surgical excision and immuno-modulant therapies. According to the site of lesion, age, and size of lesion your physician would select the correct choice for you.
Application or washing with Dettol in no way would help you either to cure or to prevent further spread as it is a viral disease. Meeting you physician (Dermato-Venereologist) is the correct way to get rid of the same. Waiting for few weeks would not be a problem. Avoid sex during these days.
