Small, Separate, Itchy Blisters Like Rashes On Torso And Upper Leg, Continuous Dull Headache. On Clarithro For Chronic Airway Disease. Suggest

I have a rash which I have been wondering if it could be shingles. Looking at the picture information the blisters are different, not tiny clusters but start of as one small blister, each one is seperate. The are not actually painful but itchy. I have been unusually tired for me and also have a continuous dull headache. I am currently on antibiotics (Clarithro) as is have chronic airways desease as a result of phenonia sone years ago. My rash is only on my torso except for a few new additions on my upper leg. When I was at my GP last week consulting my lung situation the rash was only just appearing, not nasty looking and no blisters. 2 days after that it ws well on its way. Wou7ld you opinion be as they are single blisters and not in clusters it is not shingles?

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

The rash/blisters of shingles appear along a dermatome (area of skin supplied by one nerve root) and would not appear everywhere. It would not be possible for me to give a definite cause for the rash without a clinical examination. I would suggest that you consult your doctor and follow his advice. Till then you can apply calamine lotion to reduce the itchiness and, if the problem is very severe, you can have an anti-allergic medicine.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing you an early recovery.
