Small Red Spot On Left Forearm And Spots Are Sore. Applied Cetaphil Lotion And Sunscreen. What Should I Do?
I have a small spot on my left forearm that is continuously red--it will scab up and stay like that until I accidentally knock it off. I also have a cluster of 5 red dots on my left hand between my wrist and the base of my fingers. One of the red dots is sore. I have been to a dermatologists about 3 years ago, and he told me to use Cetaphil lotion and sunscreen. I have done that, but isn't getting any better--maybe even a little worse. What should I do?
The symptoms as mentioned in your post suggest that you might be having fungal infection. Management includes: 1. Keeping the area dry & avoid too much exposure to water or sweat formation. 2. Antihistamine preparations like cetirizine to reduce the itching sensation & provide symptomatic relief. 3. Application of topical antifungal ointment to tackle the causative organism.
