Skin Irritation, Burning, Itching, Occurs After Evening. Prescribed Montair Lc. Suggestions?

I have a sort of skin irritation/burning/itching/pricking all over the body occasionally present for about past 10-15 days. It occurs mostly after evening or in the night. I have no rashes or any cold or cough. I have no known allergies to dust, mites, pollens, etc. I had been to a local physician and he has prescribed Montair LC to be taken for 5 days. Through the net, i have come to know that Montair LC is presecibed for asthma and allergic rhinitis but I do not have any URI symptoms. So, can I take Montair LC? Dermatologist on your panel, pls advise what could the skin irritation be due to??

Thanks in advance for your valuable advise.

Hi,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to HealthcareMagic.

As per your query you have the problem of itching for past 10-15 days.

In your query you have not mentioned your age and the exact areas of itching or whether this is present all over the body and the exact time period when the itching is present or is present round the clock.

Even then there is a possibility of "Urticaria". This is a common condition caused by bursting of allergy producing cells known as "mast cells". As the chemical inside them is released it produces a rash which you have mentioned. There can be multiple factors producing this condition which are included in day to day life and some times it is really difficult to find one exact cause.

Montair LC contains montelukast 10 mg, levocetirizine hydrochloride 5 mg which are the mainstay of the treatment for such kind of condition. It is actually a very good medicine which is prescribed not only for your kind of condition but certain other allergic conditions. Allergic rhinitis and asthma also being coming in same category so is also been prescribed for the same.
Therefore kindly do not get panicky about the medicine and believe in the good medicine given by your doctor.

Additionally for the betterment kindly follow the suggestion below:
- Keep your self away from hot and humid climate.
- Take two times bath.
- Wear cotton clothes and cotton undergarments.
- Do cold compression or warm water compresses according to the weather condition.
Don't try to scratch or rub the area as can lead to further aggravation of the problem.
I hope these information's will help you. If you have further queries I will be happy to help.

"Wish you good health and early recovery from the problem"
