Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I had read your query regarding blackish red patch in palate of your father. You are worried , but I would like to tell you that it may be-

1- Pigmentation (discoloration) of palatal mucosa.

2- Sub mucus haematoma.

Clinical examination is must in these cases. Clinically one should make differential diagnosis with leukoplakia as well.

Treatment depends on the diagnosis.

Regards.
