Should Spermicide Be Taken After Having Unprotected Sex To Prevent Pregnancy?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...hello my question is about unprotected sex and spermicide. Ihad unprotected sex with my boyfriend last night, he did not ejaculate inside of me. I know sperm can survive for days, should I use a spermicide or take an emergency contraceptive pill even though I just finished menstrating?

Hello,

If you are in fertile period you have to take emergency contraceptives pill as soon as possible within 72 hrs. In a cycle of 28, 14 days are safe counting, from day 1, 7 days after and 7 days before, the 1st day of periods are safe.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
