Should Prostino Tablets Be Taken Even After Having The Periods?

Hi. I had unprotected sex on the 4th of decmbr and i took e prostino 2 tablets. Again i had sex on the 7th of december but i didnot take the tablets. today is the 10th of december i got my periods today but i already had my periods on the 1st of december. So do i need to take the prostino 2 tablets today?

Hello,
You do not need to take the tablets. Firstly, if you have regular 28-30 day cycles, you had intercourse on both occasions during the safe period and hence, you did not need the emergency contraception. The bleeding you have seen is due to the withdrawal effect of the pill as it contains high dose of progestogen. Also, it is not advisable to use emergency pills more than twice per year as menstrual pattern irregularities happen with future fertility problems. Hope this helps.
