Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I would explain that this is a really low dose of metoprolol and it has a low influence on high blood pressure, as its main effect is to reduce heart rate.

Your actual blood pressure values are quite normal, so you can reduce the dose and even stop metoprolol, but gradually as it may lead to rebound tachycardia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
