I am on the seventh day of period but I am still seeing blood and I should finish with it within tomorrow because I have to travel to perform a religious task .. I am wondering whether taking iron tablets might stop my period or help me . Thanks a lot .
Iron tablets are of no use to stop menstrual bleeding. They can just help you replenish the lost blood.
Instead you may take some progestational pills like Deviry which will control your bleeding. To start with, take higher dose till the bleeding stops. Then you have two options:
1. Discontinue the pills when you are ready for withdrawal bleeding again. Then within 4-7 days you will again get the withdrawal bleeding which will be of much lesser quantity and will stop within 3-4 days.
2. After the bleeding stops, taper off the dose to one pill a day (or to the dose which will maintain your the state of 'no bleeding'). Continue with that dose for total of 21 days of the pills. Then discontinue the pills. You will get withdrawal bleeding within 4-7 days and it will stop within 3-4 days.
Please take these pills with the advice of a Gynaecologist only. Report to your Gynaecologist.
I hope this helps you.
