Should I Take An X-ray As My Son Fell And Have Swelling And Bruising On His Face?

My three year old son fell down yesterday on playground equipment at school. He hit his face (right cheek area) scraped but instantly swelled and bruised. Today there is a big bruise. He cried a bit ice was applied. Should I have taken him for x-ray? There was no blood in mouth however how can I tell if there is any additional damage to his jaw or...??

Hi.
Thanks for ypur query.
Give ibuprofen for pain relief and continue with ice packs.
If symptoms persist after 24 hours get him evaluated by doctor who will decide on physical examination if x ray is needed.
