Should I Be Concerned Of Having A Pimple Like Rash On My Thighs And Pain In My Buttocks And Legs?

Hello. I have had a pimple-like rash that has occurred on my thighs for at least a year, long before I was sexually active. I was diagnosed with bv earlier in December, and believe I am getting it again (yellow discharge, some itching, odd smell). However, I have also had pain in my buttocks and occasionally down my leg. This occurred before my diagnosis last time as well. Can bv cause pain down the leg? Or should I be concerned about other STIs, such as herpes?

Hi,

I can understand your concern for having a pimple like rash on thighs and pain in buttocks and legs.

After reading your query there can be multiple possibilities of the problem. You have not told your age, sex and history of recent contact protected or unprotected.

It appears form your query that you have developed infection and inflammation at the affected region. This is due to bacterial proliferation of staphylococcus bacteria.

For time being period you can apply antibiotic cream such as fucidin or mupirocin and give her pain killer tablets such diclofenac or paracetamol.

Do not try to even touch or pinch the area as can cause more aggravation of the problem and spread of the infection.

If it is increasing despite the treatment then meet a dermatologist or any family physician and get a proper treatment without delay for the oral antibiotic therapy to prevent secondary infection.

The most important thing is that the symptoms you enumerated are not at all seen in any type of sexually transmitted disease and not in herpes too. SO relax yourself and relieve your tensions for any STIs.

Take care.
