Should I Take Norethindrone During Periods?

My period has been irregular & I started taking norethindrone to regulate it, because I was trying to conceive but my doctor said that I don t ovulate... Would this pill regulate it & makes me conceive when I m all through with it. Also I m almost through with the first month dose & I should be getting my period in a week or so... So should I take this pill while I m on my period?

Hi and welcome to HCM. This medication is used to treat women with abnormal bleeding from the uterus. It is also used to treat women who have stopped having menstrual periods for several months (amenorrhea) but who are not pregnant or going through menopause, endometriosis and irregular periods. This medication works by stopping the normal growth of the uterus lining during the menstrual cycle and signaling hormone changes in the uterus to restore normal menstrual periods. If ovulation is happening then its better to regularize your periods first and then your doctor may try some medications for ovulation induction. I advice u to wait for some time. Eat nutritious food, also take tab ovacare 1-0-0 after breakfast dialy. All the best. Regards
