Should I Increase My Estradiol Patch Dosage?

i m going thru menopause, am 50 yrs old, having hot flashes, water retention, foggy thinking, eyes hurt, constipation. Will taking estradiol patch help relieve these symptoms? I am on .5 estradiol patch, and still have symptoms. Was taking .1 estradiol patch, and still have symptoms. Do you think I need more estradiol, or less? Before the gyn. put me on the patch, I was taking 2 mg oral estradiol, but he thought my body wasn t able to absorb the pill, so he put me on the patch. What do you think I should do? Am I taking too much, or too little estrogen? or do I need other hormones like testosterone?

Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. In the current scenario, addition of testosterone or increasing the estrogen supplement needs estimation of your hormone levels. Please do it only after consulting your gynecologist. Meanwhile, you can try breathing exercises and meditation to tide over the symptoms. Take plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Maintain adequate hydration. Sleep well. Hope this helps.
