Should I Consult A Gynaecologist For Delayed Periods?
Hello, I usually have a on time cycle for my period. Maybe late for a week at the most but currently Im late over three weeks. The only thing I could think of is I’m pregnant so I took two test and they both came out negative. At this point I’m not sure what to do. Could the test be wrong? Should I take more test? Should I see a doctor? If so is that a regular doctor or a gynecologist? Do you have any other explanation for a late period?
I think you should do a pregnancy home test at least 5 days of a delayed period.
If you are not pregnant there is a hormone imbalance and you should take progesterone-like hormones for 10 days and then stop it and wait for the period to come.
Maybe is a casual event and you can get solutions from a family physician. If it is repeated in other months go to gynaecological.
I think it may be due to stress, weight loss or weight gain rapidly, increased physical activity, living in another city especially with cold climate, etc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
