Should I Consider Newer Medicines For Diabetes, Currently Controlled By Metformin?
I am suffering from Type 2 Diabetes since 13 years. I use Metformin 500 mg thrice a day and the blood sugar levels are within control and my Hba1c reading is 6.4. I understand that new drugs are available now. Should I continue with the present medication or should I go for the newer drugs.

It I good that you are doing well with metformin for past 13 years.
It doesn't make sense to disrupt the process when every thing is settled with metformin only and moreover metformin is a very good drug which offers various cardiovascular protective effects.
Whenever you find disruption in your blood sugar levels in future ,you go for addition or change of meications at that time.
Observe proper dietary control and do regular aerobic exercises for at least 45 minutes a day along with th se of metformin.
