Should I Be Worried For MPV Result Of 5.7?

Hello, I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism. TSH was 3.2 but I also have a low MPV result of 5.7 (lab normal range was listed at 7.4-10.4). Platelet count is 301. Not sure if I should be worried about the mpv result or not. Symptoms of fatigue, hair loss, dizzy spells, etc.

Hi,

Probably you are having iron deficiency anaemia. What is you haemoglobin level? If it is low consult a doctor who will do an iron studies, retic count and peripheral smear and start you on iron supplementation.

Good luck

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
