What Causes Elevated Platelet Count?

I have an mpv blood work result of 7.3 and a platelet count of 384, is that a normal result because next to the mpv it says low on the bloodwork results printout and its definitely changed since my last results. My last results were mpv 9.6 and the plately count 374.

The normal platelet count is 150,000 to 450,000. Normal range of mean platelet volume is 7.5 to 11.5 fL. So your counts are in normal range. No need to worry. For your information I will tell you causes of high platelet.

1. Acute bleeding and blood loss
2. Allergic reactions
3. Cancer
4. Long-term (chronic) kidney failure or another kidney disorder
5. Exercise
6. Heart attack
7. Coronary artery bypass
8. Infections, including tuberculosis
9. Iron deficiency
10. Vitamin deficiency
11. Removal of your spleen
12. Hemolytic anemia
13. Major surgery
14. Pancreatitis
15. Trauma
16. Burns
17. Certain medications: Epinephrine, Tretinoin
