Should I Be Worried About Dizziness And Grey Shadow In The Field Of Vision?

I ve been having episodes of irregular heartbeat, skipped beats. Last night, I lost vision in one eye for less than a half an hour. I ve had this happen 3 other times in the past 3 months. I ll get dizzy and then the vision in my left goes. It s like a grey shadow over my eye. I have an appointment with a cardiologist on Monday, but is this anything I should be worried about? It doesn t last long, but I ve gotten a headache after this last time that is still bothering me.

Hi,

As you are giving a vegetative matter injury to the left eye a day back. And still you have blurred vision, and swelling of the lids. It can be an infectious case like keratitis probably fungal, based on your history. Or just a corneal abrasion healing in visual axis, but always better to get an eye check up done in this scenario.

Hope I have answered your query.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

The symptom you are experiencing is called as transient visual loss, which can be due to amaurosis fugax, migraine or transient visual obscuration. But according to your medical history, to me it looks more like amaurosis fugax which is due to vascular pathology, where brain is deprived of oxygen due to reduced blood flow, recover once the blood flow is re- established.

Its not an emergency, as this kind of symptoms happens in person with cardiac problem. But its always better to contact an cardiologist to rule out any other cause like embolism, which can be predisposed by cardiac problem and pose a threat to your vision initially and latter life too by causing cerebral stroke.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Satish Sharma
