Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your blood pressure is in the highest limits of normal values.

Have you measured your blood pressure during the episodes of tightening in your chest?

You should know that high blood pressure can lead to chest discomfort.

But I recommend consulting with your GP for a careful physical examination, a resting ECG, a chest x ray and some blood lab tests like : a complete blood count, thyroid hormone levels, fasting glucose, kidney and liver function tests, blood electrolytes, lipid profile, to exclude other possible causes of secondary hypertension.

A treadmill test should be performed to exclude possible coronary artery disease if suspicions are raised.

Meanwhile I advise making some modifications to your lifestyle, which can help reduce your blood pressure:
- Lose weight if you are overweight
- Make a lot of physical activity
- Reduce salt intake and take a lot of vegetables
- Reduce caffeine intake

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings!

Dr. Iliri
