Should I Be Concerned By Shooting Pain In Arm After Donating Blood? Had Trouble Finding The Vein

I have shooting pain in my arm after donating blood. I give regularly and this is my first time having this experience
she had trouble finding the vein and I felt a sharp pain that ran down my arm. After a week I expected to start getting better. Should I be concern? Should I see a specialist?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi
you say that they had trouble finding a vein which means when they were pushing the needle they might have touched and irritated a nerve end there. nothing to worry about if that has happened. it should come down in a month or so. nerve injury takes a longer time to heal and the healing process itself can cause tingling sensations. so i would advice you to use the other arm for donation next time. kudos to you for being a regular donor :)
