Should I Be Concerned About The Soreness In Throat After Oral Sex?

I had unprotected oral sex with another woman last week. I woke up this morning with a sore thorat and not being able to swallow. There are white pockets on my tonsils. I went to urgent care and tested negative for strep. They said it was viral. Should I be concerned?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have soreness in throat after oral sex which could be due to coincidence. It could be due to infections in secretions which can occur after oral sex. It could be due to the fact that your partner is a carrier and it could be allergic in nature. Need not to worry. You should visit physician once and get throat swab test done to confirm presence of bacteria. If it comes out o be positive you should take antibiotic along with anti-inflammatory drugs. Do warm water gargle twice a day for a week to comfort your throat. You should use protection next time to avoid any infection of such kind.
