Should HCG Shots Be Discontinued Before Having A Tonsillectomy Surgery?

I have been taking hCG injections for the diet that I’m on. I currently have tonsillectomy surgery scheduled for 12/12/17 and need to know when I need to discontinue using the shots, if at all? I had a hysterectomy done in 2012, and I know that they check to see if your possibly pregnant before surgery, which would not be a problem in my case. Should I stop taking the shots anyway? TYIA

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can continue your HCG shots and there is no need to stop them prior to surgery. They won’t interact with your anaesthetic drugs and doesn’t cause any surgery related complications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
