Should Fenofibrate Intake Be Stopped To Cure Muscle Pain In The Leg?

I have taken fenobibrate for three years with no problems, and my last blood report showed perfect cholesterol and triglyceride levels. However, lately I have been having muscle pain in my left leg, which wake me up at night. Should I stop the medication?

Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

Fenofibrate, if used along with statins, would cause muscle pain.
As they have drug interactions which accelarate muscle pain.

You should discontinue one of them.
Many of these people do well when they are switched to a different variety of statin/ cholesterol reducing drug.

Consult your doctor for the prescription.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help

Wish fast recovery.
