Shin Bruising And Swelling, Knot Under Knee, Painful And Sensitive. Reason?
I fell really hard hitting my shin about three almost four weeks ago. It bruised and swelled instantly. The bruise was pretty big. Now my bruise has faded, but there still is a knot right under my knee that is very sensitive and hurts. The pain was bad when it first happened I could not kneel down. Curious as to why I would still have the knot and pain.
Due to injury there was hematoma collection and there can be persistent collection which may turn into infective foci .This can be reason of pain . You may need to do blood test and rule out infection. Another possibility of soft tissue collection involving nerve tissue can lead to pain. If pain remained persistent you may need to do MRI.
