Severe Pain In The Knees And Thighs. Cause?

I have severe knee pain and recently ive started to feel it at the back of my thighs. It feels like I need to keep walking around so I do but as soon as I sit back down the pain comes back, then it feels like I need to stretch my legs out but when I do it doesn't ease the pain. Even when my legs are elevated eg. i'm lying on the sofa, it is still really painful.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain in the knees and thighs like you describe without any history of injury is likely to be due to a muscle sprain. Rest, hot fomentation, pain killers and oral muscle relaxants will help.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Praveen-Tayal
