Severe Pain In Shin Bone, since From 4 Years.Treatment??
A few years ago a wooden sledge which had metal around the front came down a hill very fast. It ran straight into my shin bone. I couldn't get up or put pressure on my leg. Now it feels like a chip in my one and it has almost been 4 years since the accident occurred. It gives me significant amounts of pain which is aching and shooting pains. Could you please explain what this may be?
Based on the description, I suspect that you could have developed Osteomyelitis of the tibial bone which is still causing pain (even 4 years after the incident).
Xrays of the involved bone will show up any pathological changes inside. A few blood investigations like ESR & C-reactive protein level estimation will provide a clue on the amount of inflammation/infection. MRI scans are needed to assess the soft tissue involvement. Blood culture may also be needed to know the offending microorganism.
So, I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for further evaluation and management.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
