Severe Pain In Right Hip,right Knee,right Buttock,swelling & Pain In Right Hand,pain Is Intermittent.Treatment?

My husband is 47 and he has pain in his right hip, right knee and right buttock. The pain is severe at times, seems to come and go. No recent trauma. He can not lay on his right side. When he sits he can not put pressure on his right buttock. He also has some swelling and pain in his right hand and this seems to come and go as well.
