Severe Eczema, Cellulitis. Rashes After Taking Antibiotics. Allergic To Sulfa Drugs. Cephalexin Prescribed. Is It Safe?

I have a severe hand eczema and develop cellulitis per my M.D. he gave me cephalotin after 5 days taking this antibiotic I develop a rush all over my body so I went to emergency to be seen. Doctor from emergency prescribe me Bacitracin.but I notice after that this is a sulfa base and I am allergic to any sulfa base drug. so he prescribe me cephalexin. the question is doctor am I safe to take the latest drug prescribe to me?

Hello,

You're allergic Sulpha drugs.
The chronic eczema has caused cellulitis for which you should be on antibiotic.
Always before starting drug check with your doctor and pharmacist for any sulpha drug in your prescription.
Cephalexin is a Cephalosporin group of drug and it is safe for sulpha allegric patient.
