Safe To Take Mifepristone And Misoprostol For Abortion? How To Take It?

hello doctor My 1st day of period was on 9/02/2013 on Saturday. I had sex with my husband on 19/02/2012. In march month I didn t get period. Pregnency test at home came positive. I am pregnant 4 weeks 4 days. I don t want baby now. so mifepristone & misoprostol tablets mifty kit is safe for abortion? Dosage - mifepristone 200mgs - misoprostol 200 mcg Could you please suggest me how to take it? Thanking you

Thanks for your query.

Misoprostol and mifepristone are the two major drugs used in medical termination of pregnancy.
Studies have shown that when it is taken within 7 weeks, success rate is as high as 98%.
However it is not safe to take medications from over the counter.
It should always be taken under the guidance of specialist Obstetrician to avoid unnecessary side effects some of which could also be life threatening.
