SGPT/ALT 55, Suffering From Hepatitis B Positive. Taking Ursodeoxycholic Acid, Entecavir. Duration To Take Medication?

My SGPT/ALT is now 55, suffering from Hepatitis B positive carrier, now my blood sample OD having >4. I am taking Ursodeoxycholic Acid 150mg two times after meal, Entecavir In 1 mg in empty liver every day. Is it OK to recover. How long need to take both the medicine. Will be grateful if a got the right answer.Thanks, Atique

Actually the duration of treatment for hepatitis B is not predetermined. Treatment is continued till some end points are reached. They are:
a. SGOT, SGPT levels are normal
b. Hepatitis B Virus DNA quantitative assay shows No Detectable viral DNA
c. Seroconversion from HBsAg positive to negative, with or without appearance of Anti HBs antibody
d. Seroconversion from HBeAg positive to negative, with or without appearance of Anti HBe antibody

Once these goals are reached and they remain such for consecutive six months on medication, drugs for hepatitis B may be stopped.
