Redness And Swelling After A Cut On Leg, Jaw Ache. Been Using Hydrocortisone. Will It Take Time To Heal?

Hi doctor. I cut my leg a week ago. Cut healed quickly but it is red and a little swollen. I am on steriods and have had a tetanus shot last year. I have been putting hydrocortisone and keeping bandage on it. I am worried because it is still red and my neck and jaw does ache a little. I am 20 and 105 pounds. Should I go back to the doctors. I seem to take a long time to heal.

Hello,
Thanks for the query,

I am surprised why are you using hydrocortisone on cut wound.

It will increase chances of infection

and never allow the wound to heal

You need to apply some antibiotic oint and do dressing.
