Red, Blotchy, Burning Spot In The Ball Of The Foot. Athlete's Foot?

I have a red blotchy spot near the ball of my left foot I have been wearing the same pair of shoes for a few weeks and sometimes without socks for short periods of time, it has a rough calousy texture and does not cause any itching or pain but has a slight very mild burning sensation when wearing my shoes or once in a while walking barefoot. Is this athlete s foot? If not, what could it be?

Hi

Thanks for asking.

This is probably due to the pressure on the foot from the shoe, usually due to friction it leads to the red spot on the area of maximum pressure.

It usually do not need any specific treatment except for avoiding the irritant.

Mostly it gets cleared in a few days when the irritant is stopped.

Thanks.
