A red and swollen arm could be caused due to various reasons and although it does quarantine a cardiovascular examination as well as it is protocol to do so with all cases of chest pain and left arm pain. Also possible is that due to the position you slept it, there was poor circulation to your left arm resulting in lowered temperature, swelling and redness which are all typical symptoms. There are various other causes to such a presentation, and you will have to be elaborately evaluated.
