Recurring Tonsillitis, Cough And Mucus In Chest. Prescribed Ambrolite, Bricarex. Prednisolone. Right Medication?

My child is almost 7 yrs. She gets tonsillitis quite often which results in cough and mucous in the chest.
This causes wheezing. Doctors have prescribed various syrups like Ambrolite- D, Bricarex A, Levocet(5ml each), prednisolone tab 20 mg(2 times a day) , Antibiotic Azithral(6ml), and repusles Levolin and Beducort(1 mg each thrice a day).Pls let me know if so many medicines at one go is safe

Hi,

first of all: next time when the child will have "tonsillitis" you should take a throat culture (sober), in order to verify if it is any bacteria (for example : streptococcus) and to it aggressively.

If the child is going to have wheezing than I advice you to use:
- Levolin respules (1 mg thrice- fourth a day)
- Prednisolone according the description of the doctor
- If the child has temperature or a prolonged cough you may use an antibiotic also.

You can use Beducort as prophyactic medicine (every day) if the child has frequent episodes of wheezing.

I advice you to stop : Ambrolite-D, Bricarex A, Levocet immediately.

It is not safe and wise to use all of them altogether.
I find this answer helpful
