General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

If the peritoneum has been opened, the fluid will be collecting in this area for some time. It can be present for months. As long as you do not have pus discharges and fever, there is no redness and tenderness, this is quite normal, and you should not worry about it.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
