Prolonged Period, Diagnosed With Hyperplasia, Had Spotting. Taking Regestrone. Menopausal. Continue Medication?

I have gone for D&C 6 months back as my periods were prolonged.after that doctor gave me regestrone for 6 cycles as i was diagnoised with simple hyperplasia..in the last cycle i reduced my dose to a single tablet but spotting started in the last 10 days.I am 49 yrs old,with 5'3' and weigh 75 kg .before takiung regestrone my weight was 70 kg,do i have to continue wid this medicine till menopause occurs

hi dear,
the history told suggest that you are suffering from dysfunctinal uterine bleeding. Endometrial hyperplasia needs to be taken care of especially at your age.regestron is a type of progesteron which works agaist hyperplasia. usully it is given for 6 mnths but if no response and you continue to have symptoms associated with hyperplsia, you can go for removal of uterus. But, there are other treatments available in form of inj and intrauterine devices which can be tried before proceeding to final step
