Prolonged Period, Color Change From Brownish-red To Red. Blood Tests Normal. Advise?

I am 47 in July and my periods have always been pretty regular 28 to 30 days even though I've been on no contraception for the past 17 years. My last period started 4 days early and is still going now 18 days later. The first week it was a browny red colour then turned a brighter red and has gone from light to normal to light to normal. I have a blood tests over the last couple of years to see if I'm going through the change but they indicate I'm not. I'm starting to worry now that something might be wrong.
