Prolonged Diarrhea, Chocolate Colored, Having Stomach Cramps, Over Counter Medicines Not Helping, Ultrasound Clear. Possible Reason?
Hi i am a 38 year old female,married with one kid. I HAVE HAD DIARRRHEA FOR 6 WKS. It's like water shooting out but it is dark chocolate colored. Tried over counter products and they did not help at all. I also have really painful chapped lips and stomach cramping. Had a gulll bladder ultrasound. No disease there. What cld b wrong w me? PLEASE HELP THX `BETSY

hello user,
I think you are having some minor bleed from your intestine which is giving chocolate colored stools.
I would advise you to have some routine blood test done like hb level, etc.
Also you are advised to have your stool tested for occult blood.
You are also required to get your colonoscopy done to rule out any intestinal lesions, for that you can contact nearby Surgeon/Gastroenterologist.

You have to go for investigations like CBC,URINE,STOOL,FBS,PPBS,LIVER PROFILE.Chocolate colour stool indicates some blood in it.
Confirm the diagnosis by investigations start treatment under guidance of gastroenterologist.
Take proper antibiotic with lactobacillus.NSAID with dicyclomin to subside pain. Drink enough water,lemon water with salt and sugar,buttermilk,light and liquid diet.
Avoid spicy,oily diet.
If it is persistent than ask for endoscopy to gastroenterologist.
