Prescribed With Omeprazole For GERD. Bloating And Excessive Burping. Remedy?
I started GERD four days ago. My Dr prescribed Omeprazole 20 Mg daily. This has the desired effect of easing the acid reflux, but my tummy feels uncomfortably bloated, I have no appetite, and am still burping quite a lot. When or how do I get rid of the bloating? I can't do up any trousers or skirts, and really am most uncomfortable.

Talk to your physician and ask him/her if he change your medication to h2 antagonists or antacids. They both reduce the acidity in your stomach as well, so can be used instead of omeprazole.
And yes bloating is a frequent complaint of patients taking omeprazole.
