Prescribed Atenolol For Anxiety. Why Is Pulse And BP Higher?

Hello, my psychiatrist prescribed Atenolol for my anxiety today. Half of a 25mg tablet until im comfortable and then the full 25mg tablet once a day at night. I am very cautious when it comes to taking medicine. I would like to know everything about it before I take it and I would like you to help. My bp and pulse are a little higher than normal but not by much. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Ateneolol is not for anxiety unless it is accompanied by high pulse rate and bp.
