Pregnant. On Mifepristone And Started Bleeding. What Should I Do?

hi, iam 37 years with 43 days pregnancy,, as per the advise i took mifepristone 200 mg tab 24 hrs back and i started bleeding .souuld i take misoprostol 4 tab per vaginal after 36 hrs off the first tab as per the schedule or should i go for a scan and clinical assessment ? please let me now immediately. my email id is YYYY@YYYY

Hi.
Thanks for asking in Healthcare Magic.

This indicates that the drugs have acted and have resulted in abortion. Your present bleeding will change in to heavy flow. The abdominal cramps will increase in intensity with lot of clots in the bleeding. You should definitely visit your Dr for further evaluation, once the bleeding stops. Repeat ultrasound is necessary to check if the uterine cavity is empty and the abortion is complete.

If the bleeding is persistent and doesn't stop, then it indicates incomplete abortion. In that case you will need D&C to clear the uterine cavity.
