Pregnancy Test Positive. 7 Weeks Pregnant As Per Cycle But Scan Shows 5 Weeks 4 Days. Reason?

afternoon. I am concerned, i am nearly 7 weeks preg and i have 4 children already, now with all other pregnancies i knew i was preg as i had signs but with this one i have no signs at all apart from positive pregnancy test . And i have had a scan to check dates. I thought then i was 7weeks due to my last M/cycle but the scan only showed 5w4d is this something i should be worried about..

Hi,
If you are sure about your dates and have regular cycles, when there is a disparity in a sonogram, the best thing to do is to repeat the sonogram, preferably in the trans-vaginal route to see if there is any significant growth in the gestation sac. This may be correlated with serial titres of serum beta-hCG measurement for a better opinion. Many-a-time, repeat sonogram shows good growth as early scans sometimes are erratic due to poor visualization. Please do not stress; discuss with your obstetrician for further management. Good luck.
