Pleurisy Due To Sinus Infection, Have Terrible Headache, Back Pain, Strong Ammonia Smell. Remedy?
I was diagnosed three weeks ago with pleurisy on my left side caused by a sinus infection . I very rarely get sinus infections. Now I am experiencing terrible headaches with back pain and a very strong ammonia smell. Deciding what to do. Head hurts when I get up, lie down or do anything. I took a sumatriptan 50 mg. I was diagnosed with migraines about three years ago. However the pill has not eased anything. I was given augmentin for my inj infection. I m kinda scared because my head he never hurt this bad even with a migraine.

I can understand your problem regarding the severe headache.
Since you already have a tendency for migraine, the sinus headache will be more severe especially in case of acute sinusitis.
Since you have already started antibiotics i would recommend you to continue the same and also advise you to take injectable antibiotic and painkillers for better and faster symptom relief.
You also need to do steam inhalation and also take only warm fluids
You are saying that you very rarely get sinus infection but since this episode is so severe it is recommended that you get a proper evaluation done by endoscopy and also a CT of the sinuses and get back to me with the reports.
