Hi.Good evening. A pilonidal sinus is a small hole or "tunnel" in the skin. It usually develops in the cleft of the buttocks where the buttocks separate.A pilonidal sinus will not usually cause any noticeable symptoms unless it becomes infected. If left untreated this can cause a pus-filled abscess to develop. If you have a pilonidal sinus, it is important to keep the area clean and dry. It may also help to remove any hair near the sinus. These steps can reduce the risk of infection. You may initially be treated with antibiotics, but you will also need to have the pus drained out of the abscess during a minor surgical procedure called incision and drainage. If it keeps becoming infected, surgical removal of the sinus is usually recommended.Pilonidal sinus cannot be cured by medication(allopathy/homeopathy).Hope this helps.Take care.
